The Camera GiftGift guides

What this site records

Short version: how many people chose each answer, and which products they opened. Nothing about you.

What is counted

When you move on from a question, the site adds one to a number. The number has a name like q:have:none, which means "somebody answered the first question with no camera at all". It adds one more when a recommendation is reached, and one more when a link to a product is opened.

That is the whole of it. A name, a date, and a number that goes up.

What is not

Why count at all

To find the question people give up on. If half the visitors leave at the fourth question, that question is badly written, and the numbers are the only way to know.

Amazon

Links to products go to amazon.com. What Amazon records once you are on their site is between you and Amazon, and their terms cover it. This site earns a commission on some of those links, and where it does, it says so next to them.

Page views

Cloudflare, who host the site, count how many times each page is opened. That count sets no cookie, and it does not follow you from this site to any other. It is the same kind of number as the ones above: how many, never who.

The host

Cloudflare also keep their own short-lived server logs, as every web host does. That is not something this site reads or keeps.
